This app shows great promise, but has several critical flaws; it also seems they no longer support the product. A few highlights: 1) Buggy UI, e.g. freezes frequently on my iPhone 6; when adjusting points theres no way to hide the wheel and click "finish" when done editing. 2) No way to correct points or take them away-- either due to simple error or if I award points for a chore and find out minutes later that the chore wasnt done properly (e.g. my child cleaned their room by shoving trash under their dresser). I should be able to take those points away (and yes, Ive read your "position" about this on your blog... its unnecessarily limiting so I will find a more practical app that preaches less and works more. 3) Prize wheel rarely works-- Ive read many, many complaints about this in forums. Comical that a company that preaches about positive reinforcement creates a wheel that mocks kids by dozens of failures in a row, presenting them with "bowls of rocks" and such. The devs of this app are too clever by half.

Choremonster gives my kids an easy, fun and penalty free chore system. Chores are part of life here and Choremonster gives the kids the freedom to do them as they choose, but are only rewarded when they actually do them. This gives them a sense of control, teaches responsibility and discipline and offers them the chance to earn great rewards for simply doing what theyre supposed to do already. It couldnt be simpler.

Chore Monster is a great app to help kids learn to complete chores as well as motivate kids to keep doing them. The multiple monsters and short movies they can win to the rewards that can be set up and personalized. This is the app for you. *On a side note would love to see the ability to deny rewards. My child presses to collect a reward sometimes by accident and then there is no way to erase.

This app is great! It is fast to load and easy to use. The only thing is you can only add points not take them away and you cant make your own due dates for the chores. They are definitely on the right track though.

When we first started using the app (over a year ago) my boys loved it - the prize wheel (even the silly prizes), the videos, the monsters. It has become harder lately to get them engaged with it, maybe because they each have 60+ tickets, all the monsters, and all the videos. Sure they can earn rewards that we provide/allocate, but the immediate gratification is gone. Theres frequent adds in the parent page, I hope that means the dev. is working on some engaging updates!

One of the features that sets this app apart from others is the schedule. You dont have to specify a specific day the chore needs to be done. You can leave it open ended and let the child decide. This allows them to feel like they have some control over what they do. The app does not keep track of past events. Once, a reward is given there is no way to keep track of which items have been completed. You can set it to approve the item so you have some visibility on which items are completed, but this doesnt work for items that can be repeated quickly. For example, I offer 5pts for each palm frond that is picked up. To allow each one to be marked I have to set it to auto approve chore. But i am unable to see that 5 palm fronds were picked up versus the dishes were put away. All I see is 20 pts awarded but not how those 20pts came to be.

We have tried several chore charts, programs, etc. to make chores manageable for our children, ages 7 & 5, and this is the best method so far. This app is very easy to use and customizable. My kids actually proactively ask me what chores they can do to earn new monsters and rewards now!

I wish there was a way to deduct points for negative behavior.... I guess Im gonna have to do that by hand! Just starting out... We will see how it goes...

I have never seen my boys more into doing chores! They are constantly going in to look for chores to earn points for rewards. & my nagging has stopped because they are doing what I want. They have also learned how to balance how they spend their points -- for us treats, to money, to prizes, or electronics, etc. As an improvement it would be able to see on the weekly report not just how many chores and rewards they earned but the details so I can look at trends or show them how they spent their points. It was nice though to be able to show them they earned 1100 points for the week but are down to 50 and to ask them if they remember what they bought or how they could have saved $11 (for us 100 points is a dollar) instead. Ok, since there are so many reviews from the PARENTS, I going to give you my view. I like chore monster. It helps you do your chores, and you get fun rewards for doing them. I have complaints, though. The spins gets on my nerves. You rarely get a monster!! What is the whole point? To insult children by giving them a jar of farts?! No!! In addition to that, some chores should have more than one ticket cost. Those are basically my two main complaints. Besides that, it is an overall great app!

I love the app as a whole, but little bugs need repair. On the Kids side when selecting monsters, the 2nd monster will not show. It is in a perpetual state of loading. Also, the banks ads are so big and really detract from the app. I know they want you to use their services, but a little less in your face would be nicer. My daughter, 9, likes the fun interface and looks forward to checking off her chores AND COLLECTING REWARDS

This application has changed the way all of my children do their chores. They think its fun and its very easy to follow up with them to make sure they did the chores when They needed too. I would recommend this to everyone. I can manage everything from my phone and check off after I review their chore to make sure its complete. This app is life-changing.

Why cant I easily contact support within the app? Why cant I erase or add to my childs point total??

The app is great—absolutely amazing!!!, but it’s not compatible with the iPod touch. I set it all up on my phone, my daughter had access to it, but my son’s older iPod couldn’t access it. :-( Not all kids have the latest and greatest technology. Too bad that it didn’t work for everything.

My C hildren love this app, and I appreciate it as well as a mother, but the videos are offensive to me. I teach my children good manners and the bodily functions in the videos are counteractive to good manners! I think they need to be removed. Other than that its a great app, but we will not be watching the videos until they clean it up a little bit!

It asks for too much personal information. Its a data mining expedition.

Our kids are so motivated now, they love it and cant wait to earn their points! We are very happy to have found this app. We took away video games Mon-Thursday and implemented Chore Monster....now things are really getting done around the house! Thanks!

I love this app so so very much! Everyone should get it who has children that they want to teach housekeeping routines and chores. The only thing that I would love for you to change is to add an option on the schedule for repeating chores. It needs to include 4 weeks and other "weeks" options. Keep up the good work!

My son is super motivated to do his chores and earn rewards. Working great so far.

To be honest, the app sounded too good to be true. Yet, we have been using it for a week and the kids are doing their jobs, loving the immediate feedback of points, collecting rewards, and spinning the wheel for monsters. I havent looked into the allowance part built in yet. Brushing teeth-check. Feeding dog-check. Picking up clothes-well, you get the idea. Great app!
